(Senior) DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

Introduction: Ready to build the platform behind Europe's smartest parking? At Peter Park, we replace barriers and paper tickets with computer vision and cloud software, across 90,000+ parking spaces in four countries. As our (Senior) DevOps Engineer, you'll own the AWS and Kubernetes platform that keeps it all running: automating everything worth automating, and making sure it scales reliably as the traffic grows. Your Objectives & Role: • Work on an amazing product with b2b and b2c aspects at the intersection of mobility and property technology • Shape the architecture of our cloud and microservice platform. You'll help decide how we run on AWS and Kubernetes, and how our services are built, connected and secured, all codified in Terraform. • Build the developer experience you always wished you had. Our frontend, backend and IoT teams should get a platform with self-service, fast feedback and golden paths, so shipping feels effortless and the infrastructure stays out of their way. • Automate DevOps with AI agents. We already use AI agents for investigations, reviews and routine ops work. You'll help us push further and design the guardrails that make it safe. • Make CI/CD fast and boring in the best way. You'll keep evolving our GitLab pipelines for backend and IoT deployments, so we can deploy to production continuously and with confidence. • Turn observability into a superpower. You'll improve how we monitor our services with Datadog, so we spot issues before customers do and every alert is worth waking up for. • Scale for thousands of parking lots and beyond. You'll make sure our systems keep up as the network grows, with reliability, cost and performance in mind. • Shape our engineering culture. You'll champion modern practices: clean, well-tested and efficient code, infrastructure as code, and blameless learning. Your Expertise, Skills & Mindset: • Experienced DevOps Engineer: Not defined by years of experience but striving for continuous improvement, direct impact on the business, and ownership • Cloud & Kubernetes: You have deep hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes (ideally EKS) in production, including GitOps and CI/CD. • Reliability: You know observability, meaningful alerting, and incident response, and you build with security by default. • Coding & AI: You write automation in Python or TypeScript and use agentic AI tools every day. • Nice to have: Experience with IoT/edge deployments or running databases at scale. • Excellent written and spoken English skills (level C1). German language proficiency is not required Technologies We Work With: • Cloud: AWS, with multi-account, multi-AZ networking, provisioned with Terraform in a modular, stack-based setup • Orchestration: Kubernetes (EKS) with Karpenter autoscaling, Envoy Gateway for ingress, KEDA for event-driven scaling and Helm for packaging • Delivery: GitOps and progressive delivery with Argo CD and Argo Rollouts, GitLab CI/CD pipelines for backend, frontend and IoT deployments • Observability: Datadog for metrics, logs, APM and alerting across the whole stack • Serverless: AWS Lambda with the Serverless Framework for high-throughput endpoints • Data: Aurora PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, ElastiCache Redis, S3, plus Redshift for analytics • AI tooling: Claude Code, MCP- and agentic based tooling that automate day-to-day ops work • What you'll be building for: event-driven microservices in TypeScript/NestJS (BullMQ, Prisma) and Python, and a Vue.js frontend monorepo (Turbo, pnpm, changesets, Storybook) Work Setup: • Hours: 40 hours per week (based on trust). • Home Office Policy: Enjoy a hybrid model with 3 days in the office / 2 days remote. • Contract: A permanent contract for long-term stability • Location: Our modern office in Munich, a vibrant city in the heart of Bavaria. Our Recruiting Process: • Initial Contact: We’ll get back to you within 48 hours. • HR Interview: Discuss your experience and expectations with our HR team. • Live Assessment: Showcase your adaptability by solving a practical problem in an unfamiliar context • Tech Challenge: A collaborative deep-dive into system architecture, cloud scalability, and handling technical trade-offs. • Leadership Conversation: A deep dive into the role and expectations with a member of our technical leadership. • On-Site Meeting: Visit our Munich office, meet more of the team, and experience our culture firsthand! What are the benefits of working at Peter Park? We believe in supporting our team with an environment that fosters growth, well-being, and a great work-life balance. • Your perks: company pension plan, corporate benefits, and JobRad bike leasing, plus, you can choose between a subsidized Deutschlandticket or an EGYM Wellpass membership. • Your flexibility: flexible working hours and the option to work remotely from within the EU. • Your setup: an onboarding experience that gets you up to speed right away, height-adjustable desks, and modern Apple equipment (MacBook (M4 Pro, 48GB Ram) and a 37-inch curved screen) for the perfect start from day one. Plus access to all major frontier AI models, MCP servers, and the agentic tooling you need to do your best work. • Your well-being: a healthy energy boost with free snacks (fruit, nuts, muesli), subsidized office catering, and a weekly team lunch. • Your fit: a lived start-up mentality in a financially secure and stable environment.
