Lead AI Product Manager - Product Vertical, Portugal

ABOUT ZEGO 🚀 At Zego, we're on a mission to do the good thing, not the insurance thing. Insurance hasn't changed much in over a century. The way we live, work and travel has. We're building the real-time, AI-driven infrastructure that powers innovative insurance, so good drivers get cover that works the way they actually drive. We're not just updating insurance; We're leading the AI evolution in insurance 🤖 For us, AI isn't a line on a roadmap or a buzzword on a slide. It's our operating reality, and it's how we build products that back drivers instead of the old insurance playbook. We don't do things slowly, and we don't do bureaucracy. We back high-performance builders who want ownership, early responsibility and the chance to do the most career-defining work of their lives. You'll get the space to try things, the tools to move fast, and the room to see your ideas reach millions of drivers. Do not take our word for it. Location Portugal | Compensation package €75,000 - €90,000 base + Bonus + Share Options + Benefits | Ways of working remote with quarterly visits to our London office Overview of the Product Team Product Managers at Zego are change-makers. We build and scale data-driven, impactful solutions that enable Zego to offer competitive and personalised insurance. Working in a fast-paced Agile environment, our team thrives on innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and driving measurable outcomes. We’re building a product organisation where AI isn’t a buzzword - it’s how we work. From rapid prototyping with generative AI to using machine learning models that power our core pricing, our PMs operate at the frontier of what technology can do for insurance. From enhancing pricing models to streamlining digital experiences, our Product team is instrumental in shaping the future of insurance.   About the Role We are looking for a Lead Product Manager who combines strategic depth with a hands-on builder’s instinct. You’ll own strategic workstreams that span multiple teams and business domains, defining the 6-12 month product direction and shaping how Zego’s products evolve to meet ambitious commercial targets. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, execution, and leadership. You’ll define new product mechanics and revenue models. You’ll make build-vs-buy-vs-partner recommendations that shape Zego’s competitive position. And you’ll champion an experiment-first culture - using AI to compress discovery cycles, generate sharper insights, and ship at a velocity that sets the standard for the rest of the organisation. You’ll work closely with Zego’s Leadership Team on strategic decisions, lead cross-functional programmes, and mentor Product Managers - raising the bar for how the entire product community operates.   What You’ll Be Doing - Set the six-to-12-month product strategy across multiple teams and domains, including the build, buy or partner calls that shape Zego's competitive position. - Define and validate new revenue mechanics, from 0 to 1 propositions to upsell and retention loops, grounded in unit economics and customer insight rather than gut feel. - Embed rigorous experimentation as the default operating rhythm, so rate of learning replaces opinion as the leading metric. - Build reusable AI playbooks, workflows and assets that multiply the whole team's output, not just your own. - Design the product metrics and dashboards the business runs on, and use financial, behavioural and usage data to ground every strategic decision. - Own company-level programmes with direct P&L impact, accountable for commercial outcomes rather than feature delivery. - Coach Product Managers across the organisation, raising the bar for product craft and data capability. What You’ll Need to Be Successful - Strategic product leadership. Significant experience leading product strategy across multiple teams or domains in a high-growth environment, with decisions that moved business-level metrics. - Experiment-first operator. You have built experiment cultures, not just run individual tests, and you make build, measure, learn the default rhythm for your teams. - Commercial and financial fluency. Deep understanding of unit economics, pricing levers and revenue modelling, and credible with Finance and Leadership on P&L-level decisions. - Data mastery. You design the metrics and dashboards the business relies on, and you are as comfortable in Snowflake as you are in a strategy review. - Technical depth. Comfortable engaging engineers on system architecture, APIs and ML pipelines, enough to make informed strategic bets. - You work AI-first. You will use AI daily here, and we mean daily. You do not need to arrive an expert, but you do need to arrive curious, experiment fast, and take ownership of getting good quickly. People who wait to be trained will find this uncomfortable.
